What the optional ID check adds
Stripe checks a government ID document and matches its portrait to a selfie. A successful check adds an ID-checked silver ring and, while your checked status is active, enables Plan hosting and Look ahead.
The ring reports only that result. It does not verify age or uniqueness, run a background check, or establish character, conduct, safety, or attendance. Payment does not guarantee a successful check or a permanent ring.
Founding-account price
The US$4.99 price is for eligible founding accounts. Eligibility is assigned by account-creation order under the first-99,999-account offer, not by purchase order. Your profile shows the price applicable to your account when purchasing is available. This page does not show how many eligible accounts remain.
Before you pay
The ID check is optional and one-time, with no subscription or automatic renewal. Declining it does not prevent nearby discovery, fixed greetings, or joining a Plan.
ID checks may be unavailable. An unavailable check cannot be purchased through the app. When available, review the exact amount in Stripe Checkout before paying. Starting an unpaid checkout does not reserve a price indefinitely.
Refunds
You may request a full refund within 30 calendar days after the charge through Contact, choosing Payment or refund. Include the account or Checkout email and approximate charge date. Do not send an identity document, selfie, card number, bank information, or password.
We also refund duplicate or unauthorized charges and provide any additional remedy required by law. Stripe or your financial institution may take additional time to post an approved refund.
A refund, charge reversal, or payment dispute revokes ID-checked status and features that require it, including Plan hosting. It does not remove access to the free core service. There is no subscription cancellation fee.
